The 2024 SEC Media Days are just a few weeks away and the media will once again get the opportunity to meet coaches and selected players from all programs of the conference. This year's event is scheduled for July 15-18 at the Omni Hotel in downtown Dallas, Texas. This marks the first time SEC Media Days will be held in Texas and only the fourth time outside Birmingham, Alabama.
It will be the first Media Days without Nick Saban, the legendary college football coach who retired in January after spending 17 years in Tuscaloosa and was replaced by Kalen DeBoer from Washington.
First SEC Media Days for Texas and Oklahoma
This will be the first Media Days for Texas and Oklahoma in the SEC. The two universities, which boast successful college football programs, will be officially joining the conference ahead of the 2024 season, marking the end of their long years in the Big 12.
The Longhorns and the Sooner agreed to join the SEC 2021 and were billed to make the move in 2025. However, the two negotiated with the Big 12 to exit a year earlier, an agreement that cost both schools $100 million.
A host of new coaches will feature this year's SEC Media Days

He is joined by Texas A&M Mike Elko, who was hired from Duke to replace Jimbo Fisher, as well as Mississippi State’s Jeff Lebby, who is taking his first head coaching job after replacing Zach Arnett.
Texas' Steve Sarkisian and Oklahoma's Brent Venables will also be making their first appearance at Media Days following their school's transition. The players who will feature in the event this year are yet to be announced but are expected to be revealed soon.
