Carnell Tate is a college football wide receiver who plays for the Ohio State Buckeyes. Tate attended Marist High School in Chicago's Mount Greenwood, where he played football in 2019 and 2020. In 2021, he transferred to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. As a senior in 2022, Tate totaled 750 receiving yards in just eight games.

He was rated as a five-star player and the No. 7 recruit in the 2023 college football recruiting class by Rivals. In June 2022, Carnell Tate committed to Ohio State University, where he enrolled in January 2023. In his freshman year, Carnell appeared in all 13 games of the 2023 season and also started in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl. Carnell concluded the 2023 season with 18 receptions for 264 yards and one touchdown.
