Donovan Edwards is an American football running back playing for the Michigan Wolverines. He is notably recognized as the first player in college football history to have multiple 40-yard touchdown runs in a national championship game.

He attended West Bloomfield High School, where he polished his football skills under head coach Ronald Bellamy. In his senior year, Edwards rushed for 1,502 yards and scored 30 touchdowns, leading his team to a Division 1 state championship. His outstanding performance earned him numerous accolades, including the Gatorade Michigan Football Player of the Year and Mr. Football for the state of Michigan, solidifying his status as a five-star recruit. In 2023, Edwards played a crucial role in Michigan's national championship run, finishing the season with 746 rushing and receiving yards and five touchdowns. His performance in the 2024 College Football Playoff National Championship was historic, as he rushed for 104 yards and scored two touchdowns of over 40 yards, leading Michigan to victory against the Washington Huskies.
