Hank Bachmeier, is an American football quarterback for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). Before joining Wake Forest, Bachmeier played for the Boise State Broncos in 2019, in the Mountain West Conference (MW) and the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs, in 2023, in Conference USA.
In high school, Bachmeier was a four-star recruit rated by ESPN, 247Sports, and Rivals. He was highly ranked as a pro-style quarterback, rated No. 6 by Rivals, No. 9 by 247Sports, and No. 14 by ESPN. Throughout high school, he threw for over 13,000 yards and rushed for 2,000 yards, finishing with 156 passing touchdowns and 32 rushing touchdowns. During his junior season, he earned All-CIF Southern Section honors and was named Southwestern League Player of the Year.
Hank Bachmeier's college journey began at Boise State, where he made an immediate impact as a freshman in 2019. After leaving Boise State, Bachmeier transferred to Louisiana Tech for the 2023 season. As a redshirt junior, he played in nine games, starting eight. He completed 182-of-269 passes for 2,058 yards, 10 touchdowns, and five interceptions. His notable performances included throwing for over 300 yards in games against FIU (333 yards), Liberty (304 yards), and Sam Houston (384 yards). Bachmeier also rushed 58 times for 47 yards and two touchdowns, including a career-high two rushing touchdowns against New Mexico State. He ranked third among Conference USA quarterbacks in passing yards. In 2024, Bachmeier transferred to Wake Forest for his final season, where he joined the Demon Deacons as a redshirt senior.
