Jack Sawyer is an American football defensive end who played four years for the Ohio State Buckeyes, representing the Ohio State University in the Big Ten Conference. Sawyer's high school football career began at Pickerington High School North in Pickerington, Ohio. As a sophomore, he recorded 62 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, and six sacks, which led him to commit to Ohio State University. His junior year was his breakout season, as he took on the role of starting quarterback due to team injuries, completing 79 of 135 passes for 1,056 yards and nine touchdowns while also rushing for 386 yards and six touchdowns. He won the Ohio Capital Conference-Ohio Division Defensive Player of the Year award with 13.5 sacks and 19 tackles for loss.

Since joining the Ohio State Buckeyes in 2021, Jack Sawyer has played in 54 games. He has recorded 68 solo tackles and 76 assists, along with 29 tackles for loss (TFL) and 23.0 sacks, as per Sports Reference. He also received Second-team All-Big Ten honors twice in 2023 and 2024, respectively. Sawyer concluded his college football career by winning the CFP National Championship game against Notre Dame.
