The Liberty Bowl is an annual college football game played close to the end of the calendar year. The game is one of the most traditional bowls in college football and has been played since 1959.

The Liberty Bowl will be held at the Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium in Memphis, Tennessee. The stadium is the home field for the Memphis Tigers. While the game has been played every season since 1959, it only arrived at Memphis in 1965.

Liberty Stadium was built as a memorial for World War I, World War II and Korean War veterans. It has a 58,325-seat capacity.

Before the move to Tennessee, the first five editions of the game were held at Philadelphia Municipal Stadium. In 1964, the Atlantic City Convention Hall was home to the game before it found a home in Memphis.

Last year's bowl game was held on Dec. 29. the Memphis Tigers beat the Iowa State Cyclones 36-26 in front of more than 48,000 fans.

In 2024, Texas Tech (8-4) will face Arkansas (6-6) in Memphis.

The Red Raiders are coming in with three wins in their final four games. They scored over 50 points in victories over Oklahoma State and West Virginia to close out the season.

Arkansas backed into bowl eligibility, losing three of its final four games. Only a 35-14 home win over Louisiana Tech in its second-to-last game ensured its place in the postseason.

Texas Tech and Arkansas are no strangers to each other. The Red Raiders and Razorbacks have faced each other 36 times. Their most recent matchup was a 35-24 Texas Tech win in 2015. However, the Hogs lead the all-time series 28-8.
