The Ohio State Buckeyes are one of the best-coached teams in college football. Under Ryan Day, the Buckeyes play an attractive brand of football and are a safe bet to rack up 10+ wins each season.
The Buckeyes are known for their impressive scouting, and ahead of the 2024-25 college football season, they are already planning for years ahead. Let's take a look at the program's incoming five-star recruits for 2025.
The 2025 Ohio State Buckeyes 5-star recruits
Here's a look at the Buckeyes' five-star commits:
#1. Tavien St. Clair, Quarterback
Tavien St. Clair is a five-star quarterback prospect out of Bellefontaine High School. According to 247 Sports, St. Clair turned down 25 offers from programs such as Alabama, Ball State, Central Michigan, and Cincinnati to commit to the Buckeyes.
St. Clair is an elite passer with the speed and audacity to attack tight coverage windows. He has enough dual-threat ability to enable him to weave and dodge pass rushers, plus enough presence of mind to find pass catchers downfield. Tavien St. Clair is currently the crown jewel of the 2025 Ohio State recruiting class.
#2. Devin Sanchez, Cornerback
Devin Sanchez is a five-star cornerback who plays for North Shore High School. Sanchez is currently ranked among the best defensive backs in his class by most composite rankings. He received offers from at least 34 schools, rejecting the likes of Alabama, Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, and others before committing to the Buckeyes.
Sanchez has the ideal build for a modern cornerback in the NFL. He has the length and height to easily snag passes from the air. Sanchez possesses a rare blend of frame length, fluidity, and deceptive athleticism.
The Ohio State Buckeyes might have snagged their CB for the future, as Sanchez has the tools to be a day-one starter.
#3. Na'eem Offord, Cornerback
Na'eem Offord is the second five-star Buckeyes recruit in the 2025 class. The Parker High School star has a stockier build when compared to Sanchez, but he's just as good in the secondary. Offord knows something about being sought after, having reportedly spurned offers from 46 programs, including Georgia and Alabama, to join the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Na'eem Offord is blessed with a build and IQ capable of excelling in a variety of pass coverage schemes. His rich blend of size, speed, and shiftiness could serve him well at the collegiate level and eventually as a professional in the NFL.
#4. Riley Pettijohn, Linebacker
Riley Pettijohn is a throwback to the days of grittier linebackers. Before committing to the Buckeyes, Pettijohn had offers from over 30 colleges, such as USC, Texas, Texas A&M, and more.
Pettijohn was recently upgraded to a five-star prospect after spending quite some time as a consensus four-star prospect. It'll be interesting to see how Ryan Day's coaching staff utilizes his chase-down athleticism and closing speed.
