Simone Biles' coach Cécile Canqueteau-Landi has been in the news this week after the Paris Olympics got underway on Friday. Biles aims to add to her seven Olympic medals with Team USA and Canqueteau-Landi is getting her share of camera time as the athlete's coach after her routines.

Notably, Canqueteau-Landi will join Georgia after coaching Biles at the Olympics. She will take up the gymnastics co-head coaching role at Georgia, to work alongside Ryan Roberts.

Since Canqueteau-Landi has been garnering attention, fans have been curious to learn more about her.

Cécile Canqueteau-Landi was born on Oct. 3, 1979, in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France. She went to Ecole Sainte Anne, and completed her secondary education at C.E.S. Roy D'Espagne until 1995.

Canqueteau-Landi later graduated from Lycée-Collège Honoré Daumier. She went to Aix-Marseille University, which was then known as the University of the Mediterranean, but dropped out after her first year.

Per reports, Canqueteau-Landi was drawn to gymnastics when she was just five years old. When she turned nine, she began training at Club Gymnastique Saint-Giniez in Marseille.

Canqueteau-Landi took part in her first major gymnastics event during the 1994 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Dortmund, Germany. She then partook in the 1995 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Sabae, Japan, and finished 39th in the qualification round.

After working hard on her routines, Canqueteau-Landi was selected for the 1996 Olympics. She competed in the qualification round with France and the team finished in eighth place.

Canqueteau-Landi competed in a few more events including a World and a European championship, before calling it quits with elite gymnastics in 1999. She went on to compete for her club at nationals for a few more years before retiring in 2002.

After that, Canqueteau-Landi worked as a gymnastics coach at the French National Training Center from 2001 to 2004. She then moved to the USA with her then-boyfriend Laurent Landi and the couple began coaching at Bart Conner Gymnastics Academy in August 2004.

In June 2007, Canqueteau-Landi and Laurent moved to Texas to coach at the World Olympic Gymnastics Academy. The couple coached several top athletes including Alyssa Baumann, Briley Casanova, Sophia Lee and Samantha Ogden.

In October 2017, Canqueteau-Landi and Laurent joined the coaching staff at the World Champions Center. The two are currently personal coaches to Simone Biles. Notably, Canqueteau-Landi is also the assistant head coach of the girls' competitive program at the WCC.

Cécile Canqueteau-Landi married her longtime partner Laurent on Aug. 20, 2005. The ceremony took place at A Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The couple has a daughter together, Juliette, who was born in 2007. Juliette competes for the French diving national team and has committed to Auburn.

In April this year, Georgia announced that Canqueteau-Landi, along with Roberts, would serve as the gymnastics team's co-coach. However, she will join the Bulldogs only after Aug. 26 due to commitments with her club team and top gymnasts with Team USA.
