Who is the celebrity guest picker on "College GameDay" Week 7?

ESPN's "College GameDay" has been one of the longest-running shows about college football, and one of the draws of the program has been the celebrity guest picker. The show gets a celebrity with a tie-in to one of the schools to make an honorary pick at the end of the broadcast.

This week, the "College GameDay" crew will head to Seattle as the No. 8-ranked Oregon Ducks take on the No. 7-ranked Washington Huskies.

ESPN announced Thursday that actor Joel McHale will be the celebrity guest picker for this week. McHale is connected to the Huskies as he was a former walk-on tight end for the program in the 1990s but never got any game action. There were rumors about which celebrity would be joining the "College GameDay" crew as they had a lot of options to choose from.

Some speculations included actors Rainn Wilson and Anna Faris, soccer star Megan Rapinoe, WNBA legend Sue Bird and former NBA star Nate Robinson. McHale has been part of the "College GameDay" crew before, as he was the guest picker at the Washington Huskies games in 2020 and 2016.

Where will the "College GameDay" crew be next week?

While the announcement for next week has yet to be made public, it will be interesting to see where the crew winds up for Week 8 action. It is always a blast to see Rese Davis, Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Pat McAfee and Desmond Howards on set to hype up the biggest game of the college football week, and there are a few potential options.

One game that makes a lot of sense would be heading to the south for the Tennessee Volunteers taking on the Alabama Crimson Tide at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The Crimson Tide have hosted the show 17 times and appeared in 55 games, both ranking second all-time.

Another possibility is if the crew decides to go west for Pac-12 Conference action for a second consecutive week and see the Utah Utes take on the USC Trojans. This one would make sense as the show has not been to a Southern California game since 2016 and has not been to the USC campus since the 2013 season.

With the hype surrounding junior quarterback Caleb Williams and coach Lincoln Riley, this could be an excellent option for the "College GameDay" crew to wind up being in attendance.
