In what seems a lopsided SEC encounter, the Georgia Bulldogs (2-0) will face the Kentucky Wildcats (1-1) in Week 3 of college football on Saturday. The Bulldogs, currently ranked No. 1 in the nation, are coming off an easy 48-3 victory over Tennessee Tech on Saturday. They also defeated Clemson 34-3 in Week 1 on Aug. 31.
The Wildcats lost to South Carolina in Week 2 on Saturday. In Week 1, they had an easy win over Southern Miss, 31-0 on Aug. 31.
The game will be aired on ABC, with Sean McDonough on play-by-play, former Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy giving the color commentary and Molly McGrath as the sideline reporter. It will take place at Kroger Field in Lexington, Kentucky on Saturday. The start time is 7:30 p.m. ET.
Streaming details for the matchup
The game will air on ABC, which is available through Hulu + Live TV, Sling and FuboTV. ABC was previously carried by DirecTV Stream, but due to some disagreements between the cable company and ABC's parent company, Disney, the TV station has been pulled from the service for the time being.
The favorite to win Georgia vs. Kentucky in Week 3
The Georgia Bulldogs are favored to win the matchup against the Wildcats. The program is currently the No. 1 team in the nation and is a frontrunner for the national title come January as well. However, coach Kirby Smart does not want his team to grow complacent, saying on Monday:
“They (Kentucky) are just as dangerous whether they won or lost that game (Week 2), in my opinion. I don’t get into the whole — we’re going to prepare the same way, regardless of what happened in that game.
"A lot of things went wrong quickly for them in that game, and it snowballed in some ways. I know what they’re capable of, I’ve seen them on tape and I know the football players they’ve got, how physical they are. I know how they’re coached. We’ve got to get ready for a really tough opponent.” [H/T On3]
Nonetheless, a Kentucky victory remains unlikely, as the Kirby Smart-led Georgia has not lost to the Wildcats since 2015. At the moment, FanDuel Sportsbook has the Bulldogs as 24.5-point favorites.
