The Texas A&M Aggies face the Texas Longhorns in a thrilling showdown in Week 14 of the 2024 college football season. ESPN's College GameDay will be heading to College Station for this SEC thriller between these two rivals.
Last week, the Aggies suffered a 43-41 loss at the hands of the Auburn Tigers. This led to them securing an 8-3 (5-2 SEC Conference) campaign, putting a massive dent in their hopes of competing for the SEC title and a spot in the new 12-team playoffs.
On the other hand, the Longhorns have been impressive in their debut SEC campaign. Week 13 saw them secure a four-game winning streak by defeating Kentucky 31-14. The Longhorns have put up a 10-1 (6-1 SEC Conference) campaign and are one of the favorites to win the conference title and a playoff berth this year.

Who are the Texas A&M vs Texas starting quarterbacks?
Texas A&M starting QB
Marcel Reed is expected to serve as the starting QB on Saturday. Reed initially started the season as the backup to Connor Weigman. However, after his contributions to help the Aggies beat LSU in Week 9, Reed has started every game for the team since.
Reed has tallied 1,426 yards and 12 passing touchdowns against three interceptions. He also has six rushing touchdowns for 441 yards on 93 carries. He understands the importance of their final regular season game against the Longhorns and its implications on their playoff and conference title hopes.
"We know it's a big game," Reed said on Monday. "It's a game that hasn't happened in a long time. Night game. In Kyle Field. I've seen some of the ticket prices and how they started around $600-$800. That's kind of crazy to me."
Reed began his collegiate career with Texas A&M as a part of the 2023 recruiting class. He redshirted his freshman campaign while appearing in three games. He managed to record a total of 374 yards and one touchdown passing during his first season with the team.
Texas starting QB
The Texas Longhorns will be hopeful Quinn Ewers can start during their Week 14 showdown against the Aggies. Ewers injured his ankle during their 31-14 victory over Kentucky last week. According to the team's first availability report, the shot caller has been listed as probable for this weekend's showdown.
Ewers has been a key player on Steve Sarkisian's offense this season. He has recorded a total of 2,089 yards and 23 passing touchdowns this season. On Tuesday, ESPN's Pete Thamel reported that Ewers is doing his best to complete his rehabilitation before their final regular season game.
"I was told it's a low-grade ankle sprain for Quinn Ewers that is going to be lingering into that Texas A&M game," Thamel said.
"Sources told me today that Quinn Ewers is still slated to start for the Longhorns in College Station on Saturday night. I've been told he's been rehabbing feverishly... so the reality for Quinn Ewers is that he won't be 100 % on Saturday, but he's working to be the best version of himself," he added.
It will be interesting to see how Ewers performs in Week 14 against the Aggies if he starts under center.
