The North Carolina Tar Heels and the Virginia Cavaliers will clash in Week 9 of college football, with both schools in need of a win. The Cavaliers have had back-to-back defeats to Louisville and No. 10 Clemson over their last two games and currently sit barely above .500 with a 4-3 record. North Carolina's losing streak goes back four games, and they are currently 3-4 for the season.

The game will air on CW Network, with the following announcing crew: Thom Brennaman will be the play-by-play, Max Browne will be doing the analysis and Carla Gebhar will be the sideline reporter. The game is set to start at noon on Saturday at Scott Stadium in Charlottesville, Virginia.

According to the oddsmakers, the game is almost a toss-up with Virginia being only a 4-point favorite. ESPN's game predictor is giving the Cavaliers a 56.5% chance of winning. Both schools are in dire need of ACC wins, with Virginia having a 2-2 conference record and North Carolina a terrible 0-3.

North Carolina vs. Virginia: Latest results

In their latest encounter, the Tar Heels fell to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 41-34. Quarterback Jacolby Criswell threw 209 yards, with one touchdown pass, and two rushing touchdowns. Running back Omarion Hampton ran an impressive 137 yards but scored no touchdowns. However, that wasn't enough to push North Carolina over Georgia Tech.

Virginia in turn fell to Clemson in its last game, 48-31. Anthony Colandrea and Tony Muskett both took shots under the huddle, with 159 and 119 passing yards respectively. Each of them had two touchdown passes. The Cavaliers rushing game was poor, with only 65 yards.
