The No. 2 Texas Longhorns (5-0, 1-0 SEC) have enjoyed a perfect start to the 2024 season. Steve Sarkisian's Longhorns are among the few undefeated teams in the country and fans want to know when they will be in action next.
Who will Texas play next week?
The Texas Longhorns will not play next week in Week 6 since they have an off. However, Texas will resume action in Week 7, when the program squares off against the No. 19 Oklahoma Sooners at the Cotton Bowl Stadium on Oct. 12.
Texas began its season with a dominant 52-0 win over Colorado State. The Longhorns then took down No. 10 Michigan 31-12 in Week 2 before beating UTSA 56-7 in Week 3. Texas crushed ULM 51-3 in Week 4 and most recently beat Mississippi State 35-13 in Week 5.
Texas' starting quarterback Quinn Ewers suffered an oblique injury against UTSA on Sept. 14 and was replaced by Arch Manning, who has filled in expertly since then.
Manning has started the last two games for Texas and led the team to two wins. However, there is a possibility that Manning might have to make way for the returning Ewers when the Longhorns face Oklahoma in Week 7, according to reports.
In his three appearances this season, Ewers has completed 58 of 79 passes for 691 yards, throwing eight touchdowns and two interceptions. It remains to be seen whether he will return to start against the Sooners next after getting another week for recovery.
Meanwhile, Manning has completed 55 of 78 passes for 901 yards, throwing nine touchdowns and two interceptions. He also has 82 rushing yards and three touchdowns on the ground.
