The Wyoming Cowboys are on the road to play the Colorado State Rams on Friday at 8 p.m. ET. The game can be seen on CBS Sports Network.
Wyoming (2-7, 2-3 MW) is coming off a 49-45 win over New Mexico. Colorado State (6-3, 4-0) is coming off a 38-21 win over Nevada.
Wyoming vs Colorado State: Preview
Wyoming is a 10.5-point underdog on the road, while the over/under is set at 48 points.
The Cowboys have struggled this season but Wyoming did snap its three-game losing streak two weeks ago to New Mexico, as they had their bye week last week.
Wyoming vs Colorado State is a pivotal rivalry game, and the Cowboys are prepared to win the border war.
"When you become a head coach these are the games you are most excited about, and these are the games that you really look forward to," Wyoming coach Jay Sawvel said during his Monday press conference, via the team website. ... "People look back at Craig Bohl's time at Wyoming and one thing they see is he was 7-3 in this game. That's a big positive, right?"
Wyoming is led by Evan Svoboda, who's thrown for 1,025 yards, four touchdowns and seven interceptions. Sam Scott has rushed for 424 yards and three touchdowns, while John Michael Gyllenborg has 355 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Wrook Brown has three interceptions, Braden Siders has 3.5 sacks, and Shae Suiaunoa has 70 tackles.
Colorado State, meanwhile, has a path to playing in the Mountain West Conference game, so all these games are critical.
"It's very important. We've always taken great pride in finishing strong and continuing to improve at the end of the year," Colorado State coach Jay Norvell said, via the team website. "You have two kind of teams: Teams that kind of run out of gas at the end of the year and you have teams which get stronger and get better. We've prepared all year for this month."
Colorado State is led by Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi, who has thrown for 1,611 yards, seven touchdowns and five interceptions. Avery Morrow has rushed for 788 yards and eight touchdowns.
Colorado State should be able to cruise to a lopsided win on Friday. Wyoming struggles defensively, so the Rams will get a big win here.
