He also recorded eight interceptions during his tenure. He was a highly-rated recruit and ultimately committed to the University of Miami, choosing the Hurricanes over offers from Georgia and Michigan.

Restrepo joined the Miami Hurricanes in 2020 and made an immediate impact despite limited playing time in his freshman year, where he played in nine games and recorded one reception for 12 yards. In 2021, he participated in all 12 games, finishing with 24 receptions for 373 yards and two touchdowns. The 2022 season saw him play in seven games with three starts, contributing 21 receptions for 240 yards and another two touchdowns. The 2023 season marked a pivotal year for Restrepo as he emerged as Miami's leading receiver. He set a program record by achieving 85 receptions for 1,092 yards and six touchdowns, becoming only the sixth player in Miami history to surpass 1,000 receiving yards in a single season. His performance included five games with over 100 receiving yards. One of Restrepo's most notable performances came during a game against Duke on November 2, 2024, where he recorded eight receptions for 146 yards and three touchdowns.
