Xavier Watts is an American safety who spent five years on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish roster from 2020 to 2024. Watts attended Harry A. Burke High School, where he excelled both offensively and defensively. He recorded 163 receptions for 2,978 yards and 36 touchdowns and was rated a three-star recruit by major sport outlets.

Xavier Watts initially joined Notre Dame as a four-star wide receiver in 2020. In the 2023 season, he emerged as a key player for the Fighting Irish, leading all of FBS with seven interceptions. His performance earned him the prestigious Bronko Nagurski Trophy, awarded to the nation's top defensive player. Last season, as a graduate student, Watts recorded a career-high 82 total tackles and six touchdowns. In the game against USC, he also contributed with seven tackles and forced a fumble, playing a vital role in Notre Dame's upset victory over the then-ranked No. 10 team. The two-time All-American decided to enter the 2025 NFL Draft despite returning to Notre Dame for his sixth and final year of eligibility (via ESPN).
