Lane Kiffin’s son Knox visited USC in June 2023 while he wasn't a freshman at high school. The class of 2028 quarterback was welcomed warmly by the Trojans football program and coach Lincoln Riley, offering the future college football prospect an awesome experience.

The meeting with Lincoln Riley was an opportunity for Knox to troll his father. Lane Kiffin shared his son’s review of his trip to Los Angeles on social media page.

“Who would of thought??? Thanks for taking good care of him and his buddy Hud ⁦@LincolnRiley. ⁩He said you are his new favorite USC coach ever. My own son trolling me @USC_Athletics,” Kiffin tweeted.

Lane Kiffin served as the coach of USC from 2010 until he was fired midway through the 2013 season. It was his second coaching job in college football after Tennessee. He would take Alabama’s offensive coordinator role the next season.

Lane Kiffin’s son Knox already attracting college scholarships

Knox Kiffin is only in his freshman year at high school but is already attracting interest from a host of schools in the Football Bowl Subdivision. Earlier this year, the quarterback received offers from SMU and Arkansas State, with many more expected to follow in the coming years.

In an interview with Inside the Rebel, he expressed his gratitude for the honor from both schools but noted that there’s still a lot of work to do ahead of his college career.

"I'm just going to keep working," Knox Kiffin said. "I want to learn a lot going into this high school year and get some varsity reps in and just grow into my frame. I'm going to keep working and try to get more offers.”

Knox is getting his offers not because of his family legacy but because of his own talent. He has been able to garner the admiration of coaches and scouts with his performance on the field.

"I tell you what, I've been in this circuit for seven-on-seven for a few years. I started out with 12U and now I'm with the 14U, and by far, he probably has the best arm I've seen in this circuit," Mississippi Mojo 7-on-7 coach Cam Floyd told Inside The Rebels.

The quarterback has made it known that he has no desire to play for a team coached by Lane Kiffin, showing a competitive spirit, which rules out Ole Miss in the recruiting process for now.

However, he acknowledged that his father is proud of how he’s progressing in his recruitment journey, adding an interesting dynamic to their relationship as they navigate their paths in football.
