Zane Flores is an American college football quarterback with the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Flores began his football career at Gretna High School, where he led his school to a Class A state championship in his senior year. In his senior year, he had a 65.5 completion percentage for 3,117 yards and 31 touchdowns through the air. His performances in his senior year earned him the 2022-23 Gatorade Nebraska Football Player of the Year award. He led the Dragons to a 12-1 record and was also honored with the MaxPreps Nebraska Player of the Year recognition. Flores was also rated the No.18 quarterback prospect in the 2023 recruiting class and was ranked the second-best player in Nebraska. Flores concluded his prep career with the most career passing yards (9,163) and completions (724) in the school’s history.
The three-star quarterback from Gretna was an early enrollee with Oklahoma State Cowboys and also received offers from top programs like Indiana, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Oregon State, Iowa State, Nebraska, Northwestern and Notre Dame. In his freshman season, Flores did not see any action on the field and redshirted the year. This year, Flores will compete with Alan Bowman for the starting role of quarterback for the Cowboys.
