For as long as there have been comic books, there have been superhero friendships that have blossomed within the panels. Different factors, external and internal, can encourage superheroes to bond with their peers. However, the common reason has to be fighting an adversary. After all, there's no better bonding experience than working together to save the world from powerful evil villains.

Most superheroes have hidden identities which makes it difficult for them to be open with most people. Thankfully, superhero friendships allow them to truly be themselves. Instead of staying hidden behind the mask, they can make true friends they can trust their secrets with, who can lend a sympathetic ear or a helping hand when needed.

Like any other relationship, superhero friendships can have their ups and downs. However, it is always encouraging to see superheroes go the extra mile for their friends, sometimes even at the risk of their own lives.

The Justice League is mostly all work and no play. But this superhero friendship that formed despite the intense workload is proof that it can also be a great way to find your BFF. Not only did Beetle and Booster work well together as a team, but they genuinely enjoyed each other's company even outside of work.

Often referred to as "Boostle" by their fans, this superhero friendship brought a pinch of humor and lightheartedness to the Justice League that was much appreciated.

2) Iron Fist and Power Man

The commonly used phrase, "opposites attract" doesn't only apply to romantic relationships. It can also ring true for friendships as well. The superhero friendship between Luke Cage and Danny Rand is a testament to that fact. Their bond was cemented when they appeared in Power Man and Iron Fist and fought against a villain together.

Dynamic-wise, they bicker quite a bit as their personalities and backgrounds are quite different. However, somewhere between fighting bad guys and running Heroes for Hire, they formed a deep bond founded on mutual love and respect.

3) Peter Parker and Johnny Storm

Spider-Man is no stranger to superhero friendships, and his bond with Johnny Storm is likely to be the most significant one. However, they got off to a rocky start when Peter decided to break into the Baxter Building in an attempt to join the Fantastic Four. After that, they would constantly look for ways to one-up each other.

However, after several meetings, their relationship evolved and became something more meaningful. Johnny was the one who unknowingly inspired Peter to keep on his superhero path, and it was Peter who opened his home when Johnny returned from the dead. Marvel fans are hopeful that this endearing superhero friendship will someday make it to the screen.

There is a lot of talk about the love triangle between Star-Lord, Nova and Gamora, but underneath all that romantic rivalry lies a deep-rooted friendship. Peter and Richard may compete for attention from the woman they love but at the same time, they have each other's backs. They make a great team and have fought alongside each other countless times.

Irrespective of whether you come for the drama or witty banter, this superhero friendship will keep you invested, hook, line and sinker.

Captain America has always been a humble hero. And so, it is not hard to see why many people would want to be his BFF. Although he gets along with several caped saviors, his superhero friendship with Sam Wilson will always be one of the special ones. Given that when they first met, Sam wasn't a superhero, yet Steve helped hone that potential by urging him to become the Falcon.

As superheroes in their own right, they fought many battles together, but what strengthened their relationship was the ability to open up to one another. This is one of the few superhero friendships from this list that has been reflected well in the MCU.

6) Superman and Batman

Comic book fans always have a reason to celebrate when two of DC's most well-known superheroes converge on the panel. Many a times, Superman and Batman have gone up against each other, but fans have also seen them bond and help one another.

The fact that they are so different makes their superhero friendship so interesting. Working together is not easy with opposing demeanors and outlooks, but it is fun to watch them try to make it work. Fans would agree that seeing the two battle each other is extremely exciting, but having them engage in humorous banter while fighting side by side is equally enjoyable.

Good friends can be a beacon of hope and strength. This is exactly why fans are delighted when their beloved superheroes form lasting friendships that inspire them to be the best versions of themselves.
