Hulk and Thor are undoubtedly the most powerful superheroes in Marvel comics. Although the two behemoths often fight for the same team, their rivalry is infamous.
Green Goliath, in his rage, has often battled the egotistical god of thunder and their battle has almost always ended in a stalemate. To celebrate the 60th anniversary of both characters, Marvel has decided to once again pit Thor against the Hulk in an amazing battle of fates.
In a Marvel crossover comic book series titled Banner of War, The Incredible Hulk and Thor assume their most powerful form. In the epic series, Thor can be seen hulking out while Hulk is deemed worthy of lifting the magical hammer Mjolnir.
In the 60 years of comic book history, Hulk and Thor have clashed 40 times
The two avengers first traded blows in 1965 with Journey into Mystery #112. Although the intense battle ended in a draw, the comic set a rivalry that will go on for ages.
In their six decades of comic book clashes, almost all fights have ended in a draw. However, the Jade Giant has won three fights while the God of Thunder has won two.
Banner of War, a 5-part crossover series, is scheduled to release on April 27, 2022. Writer Donny Cates and artist Martin Coccolo will team up to create this comic book of epic proportions. Marvel recently released the cover art of the comics designed by Gary Frank.
In Thor #26 the Jade Giant can be seen standing over an incapacitated God of Thunder. And that’s not all, the Hulk is wielding the mighty Mjolnir, proving himself worthy. The comic book will be the fourth part of the Banner of war series. The issue will hit the stands on June 8, 2022.
The comic description claims that Ironman will be involved in the tussle and as usual will cause more conflicts than resolutions. It is also anticipated that Tony Stark will don a brand new Hulk-buster.
The cover art of Hulk #8 shows the God of Thunder turning into a raging green monster and smashing the Asgardian Bifrost bridge. The comic will be the fifth and final issue of the crossover series. Scheduled to go on sale on June 22, 2022. Marvel claims in the description:
“The time for victory comes at last. Marvel's two heaviest hitters expend their rage on one final, brutal brawl that will answer once and for all which of these heroes is the strongest. But in a fight between gods, monsters, and men, what becomes of the victor? The loser? And who really has the authority to decide?”
The fans can’t keep calm and are excited for the comic book series that will answer the age-old question, "Who is Stronger, Green Monster or God of Thunder?"
