Daredevil: Born Again, which will serve as a soft reboot of Netflix's Daredevil television series, is all set to hit Disney+ in the Spring of 2024. The upcoming series, which will consist of a whopping 18 episodes is currently in production in New York City. Shooting for the show is expected to take place throughout the latter half of 2023, thus making it the longest shoot for a Disney+ MCU series.
The series will mark the return of Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio to their iconic roles of Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, respectively.
They will be joined by a new cast that includes Jon Bernthal, reprising his role of Punisher from the Netflix series, and Sandrine Holt as Vanessa Fisk. Margarita Leviva, Nikki M. James, and The Many Saints of Newark's Michael Gandolfini will also appear in undisclosed roles.

Although Gandolfini's role has not yet been revealed, new set photos of the actor from the set of Daredevil: Born Again have emerged on the internet, giving fans a glimpse into his character in the upcoming release.
Daredevil: Born Again set photos show Michael Gandolfini's character stepping outside a car
New York Newswire photographer Steve Sands, recently shared some pictures of Gandolfini from the set of Born Again on his Instagram handle. The images see The Many Saints of Newark actor stepping out of a New York City taxi. Gandolfini is seen sporting a gray hoodie with white stripes on the side, blue jeans, and white sneakers.
The photos only give a glimpse of his role and do not reveal which character Michael Gandolfini will be playing in Daredevil: Born Again. However, rumors suggest that the actor could be playing a younger version of Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin or even Kingpin's son Richard Fisk. In the comics, Kingpin's son is a criminal mastermind by the name of The Rose, who played a role in Ned Leeds' transformation into Hobgoblin.
The Many Saints of Newark star also stayed mum when asked about his character in an interview with Collider, though he did say the character he was playing was from Staten Island. In the comics, Staten Island is also the native place of Deadpool.
Gandolfini shared his excitement about being a part of Daredevil: Born Again, saying he was very grateful for the opportunity.
He said:
"I mean, it's incredible. It's so, so exciting and daunting and everyone is so nice and so talented. I remember getting my first text from the producer, I was driving, and it said, 'Welcome to the MCU!' You see that and it just, like, hits you, you know? I teared up, and it's just like, 'Oh my God!' I'm very grateful and lucky."
As of now, fans are still uncertain about Michael Gandolfini's character. Only time will tell whether or not Kevin Feige or Marvel will reveal his role in Daredevil: Born Again prior to the show's release.
Although the plot of Daredevil: Born Again remains unknown, it will feature Daredevil, Kingpin, and Jon Bernthal's Punisher in very prominent roles. According to a rumor by MyCosmicCircus, the upcoming series will tie into the events of Tom Holland's Spider-Man 4, which is said to be a street-level story and will deal with the aftermath of the events chronicled in Born Again.
Due to Spider-Man 4 dealing with the aftermath of Born Again, there is the possibility that Charlie Cox's Daredevil and Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin will show up and play major roles in the story.
