Fast X left viewers with plenty of questions as its cliffhanger ending saw the fate of Dominic Toretto and his entire Fast family hanging in the balance. It was similar to Avengers: Infinity War's cliffhanger, which was another penultimate crossover that led fans into the finale event, Avengers: Endgame.

Similarly, Fast X left viewers wondering about the fate of Dominic Toretto and his son because, in the final moments of the movie, Dante rigged the whole dam to blow up after Dom survived his initial attack. Just as the countdown of the bombs came to an end, the screen cut to black, leading fans to Gal Gadot's cameo in Antarctica.
However, what happened to Dom, and how will he survive the explosion? Does he just jump back into the water and hope that he and Little B might live? Although this is possible, it seems likely that somebody will arrive at the scene and save Dom in the nick of time. Thus, the following list features every possible candidate that could come in to save Dominic Toretto in Fast 11.
Luke Hobbs and several other characters who could potentially save Dominic Toretto in Fast 11
1) Jason Statham's Deckard Shaw
Deckard Shaw showed up for one action sequence in Fast X, hooked up a ride for Tej, Roman, Han, and Ramsey from London to Portugal, and then left to "dig up a grave." People were left asking where exactly he went, and if someone were to make an educated guess, it's likely that he went after his mother, Queenie.
However, it is also possible that he already came in contact with his mom, and she sent him after Dom and Little B. Dom and Deckard Shaw became allies after The Fate of the Furious, and the former has also been friends with Queenie. So, he becomes a possible candidate to go and save Toretto.
Since Deckard had a head start on Tej, Roman, Han, and Ramsey, he could have beaten them to Portugal as well. However, the chances of other candidates saving Dom are much higher.
2. Dwayne Johnson’s Luke Hobbs
Despite his feud with Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson surprised everyone by making a shocking return to the franchise in Fast X’s post-credits scene. He was tracking Dante and ended up at a location where the latter left a message for him.
However, it is possible that before reaching this hideout, Hobbs had already shown up in Portugal to save his old friend Dominic Toretto when the world was after him. Then, as Dom was put in recovery from his wounds, Hobbs could have gone to track Dante, just as viewers saw in the end credits scene. But again, this speculation could also feel like a bit of a reach.
3. Brian O’Connor
Fast X director Louis Leterrier had already teased Brian’s return to the franchise earlier this year. He claimed that it won’t happen in Fast X, but fans will see him when the moment and tone is right. He also said that the Walker family is still a part of the Fast Saga, and Paul Walker’s brothers, Cody and Caleb Walker, will help recreate Brian using CGI, similar to how they did it in Furious 7.
So, with Dominic Toretto in dire need of saving, there’s a possibility that his brother-in-law, Brian, will show up to save the day. Mia probably went back to Brian to warn him about Dante when she left Little B with Jakob. She was also aware of the location where Dominic Toretto wanted to reunite with everyone. Hence, it would make sense that she’d also take Brian and her kid over there.
However, following the path of destruction that Dom left on his way to the dam, Brian and Mia may show up at their location at the beginning of Fast 11 to save them. Brian got a perfect exit in Furious 7, but F9: The Fast Saga sort of teased his return in his car. Now, the perfect moment for his return has also arrived as seeing him in the finale would literally have the viewers erupt with joy.
4. Time travel theory
There is a running time travel theory that states that since the Fast Saga is playing things similar to Infinity War, Fast 11 might involve time travel, just like Endgame did. So far, viewers have seen this franchise do unimaginable things while trying to ground them in realism. Superhumans were introduced in Hobbs & Shaw, and F9 sent a car to space.
If Fast 11 were to use time travel and bend the laws of physics even further, then who would really stop them? The theory is that Dom, Little B, Tej, Roman, Han, and Ramsey would all end up dying, just as Fast X implied. Then, in the first half of Fast 11, the likes of Hobbs, Shaw, Letty, Cipher, Gisele and Mr. Nobody would team up to crack the code of time travel.
They would go back in time to save everyone that died towards the end of Fast X, including Jakob Toretto. Coming back to the future, viewers will see them teaming up against Dante and Aimes. While it is an interesting theory, even the hardcore fans of the franchise would agree that time travel is way too unrealistic for the Fast Saga.
Therefore, Brian might be Dominic Toretto’s best hope in Fast 11.
