Comic Con India, the largest pop culture celebration event in the sub-continent, has announced the exciting launch of its first edition in Chennai. Scheduled to take place from February 17–18, 2024, this highly anticipated event promises to immerse fans in a world of comics, manga, and anime.
The event will anchor its presence by bringing the magic of pop culture, this time to the vibrant city of Chennai. It will showcase a plethora of international and Indian comic creators, renowned artists, and popular industry names.

Speaking about Comic Con India's first edition in Chennai in 2024, Jatin Varma, Founder of Comic Con India, said this would be the city's first comic con festival.
Chennai is renowned for its thriving art and entertainment scene. It has a dedicated community of pop culture enthusiasts, and the organizers aim to deliver an extraordinary event that will be remembered. The event promises a range of activities, including comics, creativity, and opportunities for people to connect with each other.

In the early part of 2023, after fun stops in Delhi and Bengaluru, Comic Con concluded its Indian circuit with a stop in Mumbai.
Mumbai Comic Con 2023 was frequented by publishing houses as well as Indian and international artists including Taryn, Dan Parent, Yanick Paquette, and Abhijeet Kini. Interested comic-con attendees may expect a slew of guests from the world of comic books culture, among other things, at Chennai Comic-Con as well.
Comic Con India made it a memorable event for all the attendees in Mumbai, with some thrilling experience zones including DC Studios and Warner Bros. (Shazam and Barbie) and Marvel India (Ant-Man).
Other experience zones included Universal Pictures (Fast X), Audible (Sandman, Harry Potter), Celio (Anime Merch), and more. Crunchyroll showcased the best of anime, whereas Bandai Namco brought some of the most popular Japanese franchises.
The event also boasted the biggest manga collection brought under one roof by Viz Media, Simon & Schuster India, and BoAt.
