Southafrica born Kiwi opener made his IPL debut under the colours of blue. He was bought by Mumbai Indians in 2015 IPL auction at his base price.

In fact, he was not given a chance to represent in the three-time champions as Mumbai as it was fully packed in the top order with the likes of Aaron Finch, Lendl Simmons. Eventually, He was released from the side ahead of the 2016 IPL auctions.
