With the rise of Chhattisgarh in the cricket field, a team from Raipur may help the sport grow to new heights in the state. The state can even generate a huge revenue given that the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium has a seating capacity of 65,000.

Back in 2013, when the stadium hosted IPL matches for Delhi Daredevils, the state Government waived off the entertainment taxes to ensure greater success.

The stadium also got a chance to host the CLT20 2014 qualifiers and for the first time in the history of the Champions League, the Qualifiers matches were sold out. Legends of the game like Sunil Gavaskar and Irfan Pathan have heaped praises for the facilities at the stadium.
