Lowest run rate in a completed innings
The advent of T20s saw the increase in run rates and strike rates. No longer were run-a-ball chases difficult and strike rates of just 100 are no longer acceptable in T20Is while ones closer to 150 have become the norm. So it is certainly surprising to see teams finish an entire innings with a run rate of less than 4, which is just above the norm in Tests.
As surprising as it may seem, there have been 12 instances of a team finishing with a run rate of below four in a completed T20I innings. Netherlands, who hold the record for the lowest team score are only fifth on this list.
Kenya hold the record for the lowest run rate in a completed innings. They were bowled out for 56 in 18.4 overs by Afghanistan and finished with a run rate of just 3, which would look out of place in a Test match now. The game in Sharjah saw the visitors chasing 163 for victory but being bundled out for 56 and losing by a whopping 106 runs.
