Team India's vice-captain in Test cricket has often found himself in troubled waters in the ODI setup

#6 Dinesh Karthik

Karthik is a very flexible player

Innings: 5, Runs: 142, Average: 71.00

Probably one of those Indian players whose career could not never really take off in spite of being in contention more often than not is Dinesh Karthik.

He was given a run for five innings to settle at No. 4 and make that spot his own. Even though he averaged 71 with the bat, it wasn't convincing enough for the management to keep him in that position.

However, Karthik is someone whose place in the side is always on the edge. Sometimes he falls, sometimes he manages to hold his own.

Also, his batting order is not fixed on most of the occasions. This might have made him a flexible player, but maybe not consistent enough to place a bet as a regular No. 4 for Team India.

Karthik has hardly got to spend time in the middle after his magical unbeaten 8-ball 29 that helped India clinch the Nidahas Trophy against Bangladesh. He can prove to be a wise and thoughtful bet at No. 4 for World Cup 2019.
