In fact, he made his IPL debut for Delhi Daredevils in the inaugural edition of the IPL. He didn’t get many games under his belt. He only played 6 games and scored 95 runs. He mostly batted as a finisher lower down the order, which meant he wasn’t getting much time at the crease.
However, he came back much stronger next year. He scored 465 runs and also scored his first IPL hundred in a world-class innings that left everyone in awe. de Villiers had arrived! This was one of his best seasons.

After having a good season in 2009, de Villiers again wasn’t able to deliver as expected, scoring only 111 runs in 7 matches. Clearly, he wasn’t comfortable batting at no. 5, 6, or 7.
He went on to play for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the following year, where he had a legendary IPL career.

Sunil admires former world champions AJ Styles, Will Ospreay, and Kenny Omega for their ability to consistently deliver great matches as well as entertain crowds with their mic skills.
If ever given a chance to change a storyline, Sunil would have booked Roman Reigns to end The Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak instead of Brock Lesnar. According to him, The Tribal Chief needed the victory more than Brock Lesnar, as the latter was already an established performer when he defeated ‘Taker. He would’ve also made that as Taker’s final match.
Always focused on making his work accurate and reliable, Sunil thoroughly checks his facts before writing his articles. When not writing for pro wrestling, he spends his time watching cricket.
