8. Biggest margin of victory (by runs) :144 runs – Royal Challengers Bangalore
The IPL runners-up had a plethora of records to their name and they added one more to their tally when they defeated the Gujarat Lions by 144 runs in one of their league games. It was the same game wherein AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli shared the highest partnership for any wicket in IPL history, that of 229 runs for the second wicket and RCB piled up 248 runs on the board.
In reply, the Lions crumbled under the pressure of the magnanimous target and could manage only 104 runs before being bowled out in the 19th over. Previously, this record was held by the Kolkata Knight Riders who had defeated the Royal Challengers Bangalore by 140 runs in the opening game of the first season of the league, in 2008.
