In its 17-year long history as an international venue, the Nehru Stadium in Guwahati has played host to 12 matches, winning six.

The venue last hosted a match in 2010, when India beat New Zealand by 40 runs.

The ODIs in Guwahati were mostly early starts and day games because of the early sunset the city witnessed, particularly during winter.

However, fans in Guwahati got to see the team in action last October at the new stadium in Baraspura, where India played Australia in a T20I.
