For whenever India turned up to play a game at the venue, a loss seemed the inevitable result for them.
India played nine matches at the venue, winning just one against South Africa and losing seven, with one game not producing a result.
Two of those losses came against Pakistan, two were against the West Indies and two others came against England. New Zealand was the other team to beat India once here.
The stadium last hosted a game here in April 2006.
