The 2011 World Cup saw the event being reduced to 14 teams as India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh hosted the tournament, India, Pakistan, Australia, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, England, South Africa, and West Indies played the quarter-finals which marked the end of Australia's 12 years undefeated streak in World Cups.
