#9 2007 World Cup - Andrew Symonds, Australia
(Result - Won)

The 2007 World Cup marked the first occasion that West Indies hosted the cricket carnival. Bermuda and Ireland made their World Cup debuts as the 16-team event marked the biggest ever World Cup in history. India and Pakistan were eliminated in the first round itself as the tournament saw Bangladesh and Ireland progress to the second round.
South Africa, Sri Lanka, Australia, and New Zealand played the semi-finals and the World Cup final was a repeat of the 1996 one as former champions Sri Lanka clashed with 2-time defending champions Australia. Batting first, Australia scored 281/4 from their 38 overs in a shortened game. Sri Lanka fell short of the target by 53 runs as Andrew Symonds bowled a tight 36th over to hand Australia the victory by the Duckworth-Lewis method.
