IPL 2019: 2 players CSK could have released in the trade window

Karn Sharma is an Indian International cricketer who plays as an all-rounder. He received his first national call-up for the T20 international series against England in 2014. But he did not justify his selection and was dropped for the succeeding series.

In his Test debut against Australia, Karn managed a meager 8 runs from 2 innings and no scalps to his name. Due to his ineffective performance in international matches, his career never really took off.

Karn played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2013. He was bought by the CSK for ₹50 lakh in the 2018 IPL auction but never managed to become a key player for the team.

With Dwayne Bravo and Suresh Raina fulfilling CSK's need for an effective all-rounder, Karn will probably not be given too many chances by the selectors. At the moment he is surplus to the requirements, and could have been released in the trade window.
