5. Ben Stokes
The English all-rounder once again showed his worth in the side, making 184 runs in 4 matches, that included a match-winning hundred against Australia, which knocked them out of the competition.
At the present moment, Stokes would add value to any side that he represents and he would hope to carry the good form from the Champions Trophy into the T20I series against South Africa, that starts on Wednesday.
6.Sarfraz Ahmed(C and WK)
The captain of this team. Sarfraz seemed to have brought a sense of freedom among the group, evidence of which was seen in the final when the opening duo toyed with the Indian bowling.
Captaining a major event for the first time is always tough, but try bringing together a group of mercurial players and getting the best out of them against some of the best sides. That proved to be the real standout feature in Ahmed's captaincy.
He might not have made major contributions in the course of the competition, but his knock in the must-win game against Sri Lanka ensured that Pakistan stayed in the competition and eventual went on to win.
7. Hardik Pandya
Perhaps not the choice in all XIs, but Hardik Pandya made a few important contributions for India during the course of the competition.
His bowling may not have been as effective, but in two matches against Pakistan, Pandya showed his six-hitting prowess, meting out severe treatment on the spinners, especially in the final.
India will require a player like Pandya in future matches as well and he will hope to win more matches with both bat and ball in the future.
8.Adil Rashid
The England leg-spinner claimed 8 wickets in 4 matches, including a four-wicket haul against Australia in the Group Stages. Rashid could not create as big an impact in the semifinal, but his performance should augur well for England, who will need him in the future as well.
