England v India - 1st ODI: Royal London One-Day Series
Roy and Bairstow got the Englishmen off to a good start

Roy and Bairstow got England off to a rapid start in a 73 run opening partnership that went for 10.2 overs. Both of them coincidentally made 38 off 35 but they’d be looking to stay in for a longer period and go on to make a big score in the crucial 2nd ODI as the series is on the line.

#3 Joe Root

2018 Cricket International One Day Series England v India Jul 12th
Root will be looking to improve on his performance with both bat and ball

The fact that Joe Root is a class batsman is undisputable. However, of late, he has not been playing up to his lofty standards. In particular, he looks iffy against Kuldeep Yadav’s left arm leg spin, which he has not had much practice against since it’s a rare breed of bowling. Root will be looking to bounce back as soon as possible though, since there have been questions raised over his place in the T20I side which could soon apply in the ODI format too.
