IPL 2019 is going to get underway shortly in March. It's finally decided that IPL is going to be held in India, amid all the speculation regarding the decision to host it outside, either in UAE or South Africa.

This season is going to see the 8 teams with a fresh look, trying to win the Indian Premier League. The captains are again going to play an important part in the success of any franchise. Many franchise haven't yet decided on the captaincy role while some franchise have clear visions of who their leaders are.

The World Cup is definitely going to play some part in this season's IPL, as many players will leave the tournament early due to their international commitments. Some franchise who haven't decided on the captaincy decisions will have to analyse the squad to make sure they don't face a situation where they have to replace the captain in the middle of the tournament.

The captains are going to be the leaders on the field who will have to contribute in the success of the teams and will have to look to provide motivation to the squad. Here, we will look forward to 3 captains who will have the most pressure on themselves in the upcoming IPL season.

#1 Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli will look to lead RCB to their 1st IPL title.

Virat Kohli is simply the most recognized face in today's cricket world. As a result, he gets heavily critcized for every mistake or blunder he makes in his game.

He has won almost everything in his career but one trophy that he hasn't still won is the IPL trophy. He had always been criticized for the way his teams have played in this tournament. He will finally look to break that jinx in the IPL trophies section, and will try to win his first IPL title just months before leading his nation in the World Cup.

He has been the best player of his franchise for quite some time. He has been their highest run-scorer and has led them from the front over the years. But still somehow his side fails to go all the way in this tournament.

He will not only have to contribute with the bat but will also have to motivate his squad with his attacking mentality if he wants to finally win the IPL trophy this year.

#2 MS Dhoni

MS Dhoni will look to win his 4th IPL title this season.
MS Dhoni will look to win his 4th IPL title this season.

MS Dhoni is one of the most successful captains of all time. Not only has he won a World Cup for India, but has also won the IPL trophy 3 times with Chennai Super Kings.

His captaincy skills have never been under any doubts as he has brought heavy success to any team he has been a part of. His wicket-keeping skills make his value to any team much more. He has always been a top wicket-keeper captain.

His batting has struggled lately and with his age now somewhat becoming an issue, there is some possibility that he might retire from cricket after representing his nation in the upcoming World Cup.

If he does retire, chances are this could very well be his last IPL season too and if there is any truth in this narrative, he would love to leave this league with another IPL trophy and would also want to secure his place in the history of IPL by becoming the first captain to ever win 4 IPL titles ever.

#3 Rohit Sharma

Rohit is one of the most successful captains in IPL history.

Rohit Sharma has been the face of his franchise Mumbai Indians for the past few seasons. He has successfully led this franchise to 2 titles. His franchise is always one of the favourites before entering any IPL season.

They have a well balanced squad but are going to obviously get affected by the exit of some of their foreign players due to their own World Cup commitments.

Rohit Sharma has been in good form lately at the international stage and he once again proved it by making another big century against Australia in the ongoing ODI series in the first match, which resulted in a win for the Australian side.

Rohit Sharma has been very consistent with his batting job as well as his captaincy job. He has been one of the most consistent players of the franchise and will have to carry his franchise if he wants to win another trophy by the end of this tournament.
