3 Chennai Super Kings players who could earn an ODI call-up soon

Orange Cap holder
Rayudu has been a revelation so far in IPL 2018

Chennai Super Kings are rocking the IPL so far. They are currently sitting on top of the standings with five wins from seven games.

There were some exceptional performances from the CSK players. Shane Watson scored a belligerent hundred, Sam Billings played a stunning match-winning fifty, and Dwayne Bravo was superb with both the bat and the ball throughout the season.

MS Dhoni too was not left behind as he scored a couple of unbelievable fifties. As we have seen in the previous seasons, Chennai Super Kings is not about two or three players. Some of the Indian players are performing really well and a good IPL season could put them under the eyes of national selectors.

On that note, let's take a look at the 3 Chennai Super Kings players who could earn an ODI call-up soon

#1 Ambati Rayudu

Ambati Rayudu is currently the owner of Orange Cap in IPL 2018. The 32-year-old has been a revelation this season, scoring 329 runs from 7 games at an average of 47 and a strike rate of 154.46.

Rayudu's consistency was phenomenal this campaign. With 28 fours and 19 sixes, Rayudu has five scores of 30+ in IPL 2018 and two of them are match-winning 79 and 82. He opens the batting with Shane Watson and is looking really fluid at the top.

Bought for Rs 2.2 crores in the auction, Rayudu has already proved to be the signing of the season so far. He has already got the attention of national selectors and could be on his way to England in June. Rayudu last played for India in 2016.

#2 Suresh Raina

Raina is playing well in IPL 2018

Suresh Raina last played a One Day International (ODI) for India in 2015. Though he featured in the recent T20 games for India, he lost his place in the ODI squad.

Suresh Raina is having a good IPL campaign. On his day, the 31-year-old can destroy any bowling attack in the world. He has scored 204 runs in IPL 2018 so far at an average of 51 and a strike rate of 140. He has scored 2 brilliant fifties in the tournament until now.

India's middle-order looked fragile in South Africa as Jadav and Pandya failed consistently. With the 2019 World Cup in mind, Kohli would want to have his experienced middle-order batsman back in the team and a good IPL will certainly pave a way for that.

#3 Deepak Chahar

Another Chennai Super Kings player who is stealing the limelight this season is the young Rajasthan medium-pacer Deepak Chahar. With 19 wickets, the 25-year-old was the highest wicket-taker in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament, 2017/18.

Bought by CSK for Rs 80 lakh in the auction, Chahar has bowled well this season. He has played all the games for CSK this season and has picked up 6 wickets at an economy rate of 7.98. He opened the bowling for CSK on most occasions and has done an excellent job in the power play overs.

He certainly possesses the talent and another good domestic season will put him under the radar of national selectors.
