The third edition of the SA20 kicked off on January 9 and we have already witnessed some high-scoring thrillers in the first two days of the competition. The first two years of the T20 league have seen its fair share of growth and new talents and the similarity of the teams with the Indian Premier League (IPL) makes it much more exciting for the fans.

All the six teams in the SA20 are owned by the IPL franchises. The Pretoria Capitals, owned by the JSW group, started their third season of the tournament with a narrow defeat against the Durban Supergiants by 2 runs.

The Pretoria Capitals is the sister franchise of the Delhi Capitals and the team formation and choices of players have been dependent on how they have fared in the IPL and other T20 leagues. Over the years, we have seen quite a few players from the same IPL franchises going on to don the colours of a sister franchise in other T20 leagues.

The current Pretoria Capitals squad has a few former Delhi Capitals members who will look to make a significant impact in the ongoing edition of the SA 20. That said, let us have a look at three former DC players who are part of the Pretoria Capitals squad for the SA20 2025:

# 3. Wayne Parnell

The left-arm pacer is one of the former Delhi Capitals player who is part of the Pretoria Capitals squad in the ongoing edition of the SA20 league. He is an utility fast bowler who has the ability to move the ball both ways and can bowl both with the old and the new ball.

He wasn't part of the playing XI in the opening match for the Pretoria Capitals but is expected to feature as the tournament progresses. Parnell might have passed his prime but his experience will certainly come in handy. He can mentor the young lot of fast bowlers and chip in whenever required.

Parnell has played 26 IPL matches so far and has bagged as many wickets. The left-arm pacer was part of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) squad in 2023 but his last appearance in the playing XI was back in 2014. He was bought by the Delhi Daredevils (now Capitals) in 2010 but didn't play a single match. Parnell again returned to don the franchise's colours in 2014.

# 2. Rilee Rossouw

The swashbuckling left-handed batter, Rilee Rossouw is part of the current Pretoria Capitals squad. He was dismissed for just a solitary run in the opening encounter against the Durban Supergiants.

The southpaw has the ability to decimate any bowling attack on his day but his consistency has remained a matter of concern. Rossouw has played 22 IPL matches so far, scoring 473 runs at a below-par average of 23.

The Delhi Capitals snapped him up for Rs 4.60 crores ahead of the 2023 IPL. However, the franchise released Rossouw following a disappointing outing in 2023. Rossouw will look to get into his groove as the third edition of the SA20 slowly springs into life.

# 1. Anrich Nortje

One of the most tearaway fast bowlers going around in world cricket, Anrich Nortje is plying his trade for the Pretoria Capitals in the ongoing edition of the SA20 league.

Nortje is someone who tends to hurry batters and has done that quite consistently in the IPL. Nortje joined the Delhi Capitals squad ahead of the 2020 season as a replacement for Chris Woakes. He also bowled the fastest delivery (156.22 km) in IPL history in 2020.

Nortje has played 46 IPL matches so far, bagging 60 wickets in the process. The Protea didn't feature in the opening encounter of the third edition of the SA20 but is expected to make an impact as the tournament progresses.
