Prithvi Shaw was all over the news in November 2013 when he scored 546 off 330 balls in a Mumbai-based Harris Shield elite division match. Shaw is a fine stroke player who believes in attacking and scoring quick runs. His batting style resembles the great Sachin Tendulkar with his strokes and footwork. Shaw has shown immense potential and consistency at every opportunity he has got.

Shaw has shown unbelievable hunger for runs. He has a wonderful record in the first class cricket where he has scored with an average of 56.72. In his last 10 innings, Shaw has scored 4 centuries. In fact, it appears as if he is scoring runs just for fun now. He has proved that age should not be a hurdle in the selection for the national squad. If Ollie Pope and Sam Curran can play for England in the test at the young age, so why Indian selectors are hesitating in giving the chance to Prithvi Shaw.

India faces a big problem with the opening on the foreign tour. Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, and Murli Vijay struggle a lot on foreign pitches and are finding it hard to give India a solid opening stand. Shaw could be an answer to that problem. He was excellent in recently competed England A tour. Selectors should pick him for the Australian tour and show some trust in him.
