#2 Sourav Ganguly (2002: Series drawn, 1-1)

Sourav Ganguly, popularly known as Dada, has been one of the best captains in the history of world cricket. His captaincy tenure has got to be one of the most chronicled ones in recent times. Dada stressed the need to be intrepid and he led by example in this regard.
He took over at a turbulent time in the wake of the match-fixing saga and, along with the likes of Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, and Anil Kumble, fashioned a team that was impregnable at home and more than competitive abroad.
He captained India for 49 Test matches with a winning record of 21 Test matches. In his Test career as a captain, Dada toured England only once which was in 2002. In 2002 India's tour of England, Sourav Ganguly managed a series-draw and became the only second captain after Kapil to never lose a Test series in England.
