#2 Amit Mishra

The Haryana leg-spinner has had a start-stop career in international cricket for quite a long time now. Mishra has never been able to cement his place in the Indian team because of lack of consistent performances and being on the unlucky side often.
A career spanning over a decade has seen only 76 wickets from 22 Tests at almost 36 apiece. Clearly, these figures are not convincing enough for someone who has been a stellar performer in the domestic circuit.
Mishra was a regular in the Test team till 2011. Thereafter, after the emergence of Ashwin and Jadeja in Test cricket, he was shown the exit doors. He made a brief comeback in 2015 but could not prove effective. His last appearance in India colors came in December 2016.
Given the emergence of Kuldeep and Chahal, it is unlikely to see selectors turning back to a 35-year-old leg-spinner.
