#1. Gautam Gambhir
India's prolific left-handed opener, Gautam Gambhir has failed to make a Test return ever since he was shown the way out of the Test team pertaining to his repeated failures.
Gambhir, who has shared some of the most memorable opening stands with his state partner Virender Sehwag, was one of India's most consistent batsmen during his prime. His ability to score runs on some of the difficult tracks helped him with the ICC Test Player in 2009.
However, ever since 2014, when Gambhir failed miserably in Test matches in England, he has been sidelined due to lack of runs. While the 36-year old is one of the most determined cricketers to ever play the game- he still holds the same passion for the game, it seems that the road is little too far for him to make an inspiring return for India in whites.
He last made an appearance vs England in 2016 at Rajkot in India's jaw-dropping series victory over the visitors by 4-0. It seems that Gambhir has had his bit of success for India and is time to bid adieu to the game that has given him National recognition.
