The tall Punjab pacer was a part of talented Indian pace-bowling contingent of Rahul Dravid's era which comprised of himself, RP Singh, Sreesanth, Munaf Patel and others. However, VRV Singh did not go far in his international career and soon faded away showing no signs of a comeback.
In his international career, Vikram has played 5 Tests, picking 8 wickets at an expensive average of 53. Surprisingly, he went wicketless both the times when he has played ODI cricket for India.
The fast bowler played few IPL games for the Kings XI Punjab in the early years of the league but that was it for his cricketing career. His last appearance for India came in May 2007 in the Test series in Bangladesh.
