Manpreet Gony was another talented pacer who earned a place in the national side on the back of some good IPL performances but failed to replicate the same in international cricket. Gony was picked into the Indian team for Asia Cup 2008 in Pakistan where he played 2 ODIs for India.
In the 2 ODIs, he picked 2 wickets at a relatively expensive economy rate of 5.8 and did not impress much. He was shown the exit doors after that tournament and was never considered again for national selection.
Gony was a part of the IPL for many years playing for the Chennai Super Kings, Deccan Chargers, Kings XI Punjab and Gujarat Lions giving tidy but not spectacular performances on occasions. At 34, Gony does not have many chances of making an international comeback.
