Rahul will look forward to a change in format to get back his rhythm

Rahul has had a woeful series Down Under and has been facing the heat from the Indian fans for his string of dismal performances. The opening batsman had a disappointing series against the Windies in the T20s where he only scored 59 runs. After the T20 series against the Windies, he had another bad series in the T20s against the Aussies where he was only able to score 27 runs from his three games. His form waned towards the end of 2018.

The Team management kept faith in his talent as they picked him for the Test series against the Aussies. In the first two games, he scored 48 runs following which he was dropped for the 3rd Test. The opening pair of Rahul and Vijay was replaced by Mayank Agarwal and Hanuma Vihari.

The Karnataka batsman failed in the final Test match too as he scored just nine runs in the rain-curtailed Test match.

Rahul will be looking to rediscover his form and keep his place in the side for the World Cup.
