The Indian off-spinner was a part of the squad when India won the World Cup in 2011 and played an extremely important role in the 2013 Champions Trophy and 2015 World Cup, playing all of India's games.

However, over the past few years he has fallen out of favour with the Indian selectors due to the emergence of players like Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal.

He continues to be an important part of the Test squad but is highly unlikely that he will play in the World Cup next year.
