Daniel Vettori is perhaps the best spinner New Zealand has ever produced till now. His accuracy, rhythm, and control over the ball were legendary. His contribution with the bat was also crucial for his team in many matches. He was a loyal servant of New Zealand cricket for nearly 18 years.

Despite being one of the best spinners in the world, Vettori found little success against the mighty Indian batsmen. In 21 innings he managed to take just 40 wickets at an unimpressive average of 48.42 and strike rate of 106.59.
