1. India winning the Champions Trophy
India won the Champions Trophy competition held at England, beating the hosts by five runs in the final after overcoming South Africa, the West Indies and Pakistan in the group stage, followed by a semi-final victory over Sri Lanka.
India had won all the matches in the tournament. And from the start of the Tournament itself, India are considered as the favorites to win the Tournament.
Shikhar Dhawan was the leading run scorer of the tournament and Ravindra Jadeja was the leading wicket-taker of the tournament.
2. Sachin Tendulkar‘s Retirement
In October 2013, Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar announced his retirement from Test and all forms of cricket after playing his 200th Test against West Indies. He took retirement from the ODIs in December 2012 and from the Twenty20 format in October 2013, after he played the 2013 Champions League Twenty20, where his team Mumbai Indians took the winner’s trophy. On his request, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) agreed to schedule this match at Wankhede stadium, his home grounds in Mumbai.

Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma has been consistent as an opening pair this year. Shikhar and Rohit has played an important role in the Champions Trophy tournament, which helped India to set a good platform. The performance of Virat Kohli was no different too. No one can forget Kohli’s contribution in the final of the Champions Trophy.
