Dhoni requires just 51 runs to achieve the milestone

Legendary Indian wicketkeeper and former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni breached the 10000 runs mark earlier this year at Lord's.as he became the 4th Indian and 12th worldwide to achieve the feat.

Dhoni has scored 10,123 runs in 328 matches that he has played, at an impressive average of 50.62 and is widely regarded as one of the best finishers to have graced the game. However, 174 of those runs have come while playing for the Asia XI, as a part of the three-match Afro-Asia Cup in 2007.

MSD has scored 9,949 runs for India so far and is just 51 runs away from scoring 10,000 runs for his country.

MS is expected to bat at No.6, with Ambati Rayudu and Rishabh Pant given the opportunity to bat higher up the order. Chances are slimmer that things shall come down to him, especially in case of a mediocre chase, given the sublime form exhibited by Rohit and Virat today.

However, if Dhoni gets a chance to bat, he might well etch his names in the record books, for the umpteenth time.
